3 Major Snubs: Class of 2020 Rock & Roll Hall of Fame Inductees

Was 2020 the worst year in modern history to be a musician?

If you're a member of Depeche Mode, your answer is probably no (also, thanks for reading). Unfortunately, the rest of us have some complaining to do.

More recently, the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame Foundation announced the class of 2020 induction ceremony will be held virtually and streamed on HBO Max November 7th.

The Rock & Roll Hall of Fame 2020 Inductee Class includes Depeche Mode, The Doobie Brothers, Whitney Houston, Nine Inch Nails, The Notorious B.I.G., T-Rex, and Ahmet Ertegun Award honorees Jon Landau and Irving Azoff.

The following is a list of artists whom I believe were royally snubbed from this year's induction:

1. Dave Matthews Band

The largest snub and least surprising entry on the list goes to Hillary Clinton... I mean... Dave Matthews Band.

Each year, the Hall of Fame invites music fans to cast their vote on who they believe should be inducted the next year. If you're able to visit the museum in Ohio, they even supply voting stations for tourists to (seemingly) make their voice heard.

But, despite dominating the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame Foundation's online vote, DMB is nowhere to be found.

2. Dave Matthews Band

Gigging incessantly since the late 80's, Dave Matthews Band has cemented their position in the music industry as a jam-band legend, powered by an eclectic roster of musicians with varying backgrounds.

I was disappointed to discover that a band with the most consecutive #1 albums in the history of music didn't make the list.

They also rank among the top 50 best-selling artists of all time, but I guess that's not important either.

3. Dave Matthews Band

According to Forbes, The Dave Matthews Band first reached No. 1 on the Billboard 200 back in 1998 with their third full-length, and in the two full decades that have passed since then, they haven’t missed starting a studio album on the throne once.

Pretty impressive for a band NOT inducted into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame right?

Well, there's always next year...
